The Golden Joystick Awards is always one of the most anticipated awards shows to highlight the great achievements of the hard work that goes into the gaming industry every year. The awards show happened on Tuesday, November 23 and did not disappoint as famous Uncharted voice actors, Nolan North and Emily Rose hosted. There were even two new, additional categories to celebrate 50 years of gaming: Best Gaming Hardware of All Time and Ultimate Game of All Time.

With millions of votes, one of the major highlights of the 39th iteration of the awards show included Resident Evil: Village captured the most awards with its four zombie-tastic wins. This is a perfect moment as the film based on the video game series, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, hits theatres on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Final Fantasy XIV takes two awards as the hype for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin ramps up its expected release in March 2022 and most anticipated Final Fantasy XVI with its announcements, giving snippets of what is to come.
