Earlier this week, Sony announced they would be hosting another PlayStation State of Play presentation set to feature some “exciting updates” on PS4 and PS5 titles, and we have everything you missed.

Before the broadcast of PlayStation’s Direct style presentation, the company noted in a tweet that PlayStation fans will get a new look at PSVR2 title, Horizon Call of the Mountain during the State of Play presentation. Other than that going into the event, PlayStation hasn’t noted what type of games fans can expect to be featured in the presentation. Following the conclusion of the event, this month’s State of Play presentation featured mostly focused on AAA third party titles from Japanese publishers, but also featured a PlayStation Studios title heading to PC and a good number of indie titles were shown off.

Overall, this State of Play presentation was a good showcase of some exciting games coming to PlayStation this year and 2023 for PS4 and PS5 during the 30-minute presentation. Here are all the highlights of everything announced during the June State of Play presentation.

Resident Evil 4 Remake (PS5) – March 24th 2023

Capcom has revealed that the remake to the beloved Resident Evil 4 will release on PS5 on March 24th, 2023. The upcoming title will feature the return of Leon Kennedy many years in aftermath of Resident Evil 2 Remake. The remake will also feature PSVR2 content which is currently in development alongside the main game.

Resident Evil Village (PS5 via PSVR2) – TBA

Moving on PlayStation announces that four titles coming to PSVR2, the first one has Capcom staying on the Resident Evil train and announces that Resdent Evil Village is in development as a PSVR2. The title will be even more immersive with PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, no release date or window was revealed.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2 (PS4 via PSVR) – TBA 2022

Skydance Interactive and Skybound Entertainment gives us a first look at gameplay for the next chapter in the VR title The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. The next chapter, Retribution is set to release on PS4 via the original PSVR headset. On that note it was also revealed that the VR title is also in development for PSVR 2.

No Man’s Sky (PS5 via PSVR2) – TBA

Hello Games has announced that No Man’s Sky is in development for PSVR2.

Horizon Call of the Mountain (PS5 via PSVR2) – TBA

Horizon Call of the Mountain is an exclusive experience created for PlayStation’s upcoming PSVR2 headset, it is set to feature a brand-new adventure in the Horizon franchise. The PSVR2 exclusive title is being developed in tandem by Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West developer, Guerrilla Games and recently acquired VR-focused studio, Firesprite.

PlayStation says players will embrace a new level of immersion in a unique experience, designed to push hardware technology, innovation, and gameplay. Alongside that first look at Horizon’s first VR title, it was also announced a new Horizon Forbidden West update is currently available, which will add New Game+, an Ultra Hard difficulty, and more.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (PC) – August 12th

Moving onto the PC space, PlayStation has announced that the PlayStation’s critically-acclaimed game, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is swinging over to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on August 12th. The game features an original story from Developer, Insomniac Games where Peter Parker’s worlds collide as he fights crime and iconic villains in New York City. In addition the game will also feature the trilogy DLC story, The City That Never Sleep which follows the events of the main campaign. The PC version of the game is being developed in collaboration by Insomiac Games and Nixxes Software, which is optimizing the Marvel title for PC.

Stray (PS4 & PS5) – July 19th

Originally revealed during the PlayStation Showcase in 2020, Stray is a game where players will be inserted into the paws of a stray cat. Lost, alone, and separated from family, a stray cat must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten cybercity and find the way home. Stray is set to launch on PS4 and PS5 on July 19th. PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra members will be able to download the game for free when it releases.

The Callisto: Protocol (PS4 & PS5) – December 2nd

Striking Distance Studios has debuted the first official PS5 gameplay trailer for the upcoming The Callisto: Protocol, which is in development from veterans who previously worked on Dead Space, including the co-creator, Glen Schofield. The Callisto: Protocol is set to launch on PS4 and PS5 on December 2nd.

Rollerdrome (PS4 & PS5) – August 16th

Rollerdrome is the newest game from OlliOlli developer, Roll7 and is set to launch on PS4 and PS5 consoles on August 16th.

Eternights (PS4 & PS5) – Early 2023

Eternights is a dating action game that blends a love story with adrenaline-driven combat as you make the most out of life during the apocalypse. Scavenge for supplies, explore dungeons, or you can go on dates. Find love while saving the world in Eternights launching on PS4 and PS5 consoles in early 2023.

Street Fighter 6 (PS4 & PS5) – TBA 2023

Street Fighter 6 is the next entry in the Capcom iconic fighting game series which is set to release in 2023. Fighting game veterans and newcomers alike can take part in the Fighting Ground, which focuses on the classic fighting game experience with modes from previous games in the series. In addition, the game will introduce two new modes – World Tour, an immersive single-player story experience and Battle Hub, which will further expand the scope of player communication and engagement.

Tunic (PS4 & PS5) – September 27th

That’s right Tunic is officially heading to PlayStation this fall for players on PS4 and PS5. In Tunic, players will explore a land filled with lost legends, ancient powers, and ferocious monsters. You do all this from the perspective of a small Link-inspired fox who is on a big adventure in an isometric action game.

Season: A letter to the future (PS4 & PS5) – Fall 2022

In Season: A letter to the future, players are carried away by the great journey of Season in the third-person atmospheric adventure bicycle road trip game. Explore the world through the eyes of a young woman while collecting memories before a mysterious cataclysm washes everything away. Season: A letter to the future is riding its way to PS4 and PS5 consoles this fall.

Final Fantasy XVI (PS5) – Summer 2023

This feels like a long time coming, but Square Enix confirmed when Final Fantasy XVI is releasing, well a release window anyway which is the summer of 2023. Final Fantasy XVI is the next main entry in Square Enix’s long-running RPG series which, like the previous entry, Final fantasy XV, will feature action role-playing gameplay. The RPG is set in the fantasy world of Valisthea, where the people live comfortably thanks to mountains of crystal called the Mothercrystals. The world is controlled by six factions: the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, the Holy Empire of Sanbreque, the Kingdom of Waloed, the Dhalmekian Republic, the Iron Kingdom, and the Crystalline Dominion.
