Pixels & Ink Podcast: Episode 395

Silent Hill and Marvel

Pixels & Ink Podcast: Episode 395

On this week’s Pixels & Ink Podcast: Brendan, Chris, Dayna and Jordan sit down to talk cross-overs in games like Fortnite with Among Us, PUBG with Evangelion, and even Marvel with…Marvel.

From there, the team discusses the Marvel Disney+ takeover, beginning with the new She-Hulk: Attorney At Law trailer, its story, graphics and the magnificent Tatiana Maslany. With movies like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness crossing over so closely with Marvel shows like Wandavision, is the MCU becoming too much?

With Silent Hill rumours running wild, the cast breaks down past games. Members mention which Silent Hill titles were great, which weren’t and who they think should bring the title back for another run.

Dayna also shares her new found love for indie games, and how some of her favourites are no longer AAA titles. After reviewing Cat Cafe Manager and APICO in the last few weeks, the team discusses the charm behind indie darling.

About the Castors:

  • Brendan Frye: Editor-in-Chief of CGMagazine, Brendan is as snarky as he is seasoned in the gaming industry. With over a decade working as a journalist and EIC, he has covered festivals and conferences, interviewed the industry’s biggest names, and is always excited to see how the medium changes with new technology and fresh voices.
  • Chris De Hoog: A writer and podcaster from Ontario, Chris discovered roleplaying games with Final Fantasy on the NES and has been overthinking them ever since. When he’s not obsessing over Star Wars, you can find him steaming at twitch.tv/guildtwotaps
  • Dayna Eileen: Executive Editor and long-time serial gamer, mom of two, aunt to many; she absolutely loves introducing the people she knows to her love for games and nerd culture. You can find her on Instagram and Twitter and Instagram as @thedaynaeileen
  • Jordan Biordi: Part-time Ninja; when he’s not busy combating the forces of evil, he’s writing articles and making videos on the hilariously mediocre YouTube channel: Ninja-Jordan Reviews.
